Zendaya dressed casually for the relaxing outing, going with a simple gray sweater, black pants, and sneakers. Tom, meanwhile, wore a navy sweater and matched it with darker teal pants and a pair of brown boots. The story here is the PDA, though! The Challengers actress was hand-in-hand with the Uncharted actor, as we mentioned. Then, later, she put her arm around her hunky man and even leaned in to lovingly nuzzle the side of his head as they went along! And he kissed her hand!

The sighting comes just days after the couple went on the best date ever — playing with newborn puppies! Tom shared the magic on his IG!

Of course, all this heartwarming public touchy-feely time comes just a couple weeks after fans started pondering whether the two A-listers had secretly gotten engaged. Of course, that seemed to have been a big mirror selfie misunderstanding. And sure enough, Zendaya’s left ring finger was bare in these pics.

The Euphoria star was feeling herself on Thursday when she decided to post a selfie of herself wearing a flashy ring. Her fans instantly thought she was subtly revealing the Spider-Man star popped the question. Since everyone’s on pins and needs for a proposal, the speculation spread like wildfire. But it was actually all just smoke and… mirrors!

In a since-deleted Instagram Story video, Zendaya shut down the speculation, laughing:

“I can’t post anything, you guys. I posted it for my hat. Like not for the ring on my right hand, you guys, seriously. You think that’s how I would drop the news? You think, like, what!”

In the pic, most overlooked the Golden State Warriors hat she was sporting. But can you blame them? Everybody’s eager for these two lovebirds to take the next step!!

The problem is, these overeager fans failed to notice this was a selfie in the mirrored surface of a car window. Mirrored. Meaning the hat and phone were flipped, and the hand everyone was looking at was her right.

In a candid new interview with Jay Shetty on his podcast On Purpose on Monday, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star was pretty much down to talk about anything — except when it came to his love life. He shared:

“My relationship is the thing I keep most sacred. I don’t talk about it. I try my best to keep it as private as possible.”

He went on to explain this was a mutual decision he and the Euphoria star agreed on very quickly into their romance after meeting on the set of the Marvel flick, elaborating:

“We both feel like that is the healthiest way for us to move on as a couple, so I do try to keep as removed from [Hollywood] as possible.”

Makes sense! Things can get complicated when the whole world has an up-close look at a celeb’s personal life — let alone their relationship! These two have their eyes on the prize and hopefully, that’ll help them last the long haul.

That said, from time to time, he does let slip how much he loves the Disney Channel alum, including in an episode of the SmartLess podcast this week when he gushed:

The duo has been through a lot together after meeting in 2016 for the latest iteration of the Spider-Man franchise, in which they eventually played love interests. Naturally, their chemistry on and offscreen soon sparked romance rumors — but it wasn’t until they were spotted kissing in a parked car in July 2021 that they could no longer deny dating speculation. (Though they basically never came out and specifically confirmed it in an interview!)

While they are no longer hiding their feelings for one another (and are occasionally spotted out on cute dates and will celebrate the other’s b-day publicly), they still rarely speak about their romance. Seems like it’s workin’ for them though!

While the actor may play a superhero on the big screen, the Spider-Man: No Way Home star still struggles in very real, human ways — just like the rest of us.

If you keep up, you probably know that Tom has struggled with alcoholism throughout his twenties. He revealed to Entertainment Weekly back in May that he’d gotten a hold on it, and at the time was about a year and four months sober. However, he didn’t really address what sparked his journey to sobriety, or what his issues with alcohol were… Until now.

On Sunday, the 27-year-old sat down with Jay Shetty for an episode of the On Purpose podcast, where he opened up about the scary place he was in prior to calling it quits. He recalled:

“It’s interesting, I didn’t one day wake up and say, ‘I’m giving up drinking.’ I just, like many Brits, had a very, very boozy December — Christmas time, I was on vacation, I was drinking a lot, and I’ve always been able to drink a lot.”

He explained that after the holiday season wrapped, he decided to try out “dry January” — a popular trend where you don’t drink alcohol during the month of January, often after overdoing it during the holidays. He shared:

“I decided to just give it up for January, I just wanted to do dry January, and all I could think about was having a drink — it was all I could think about. I was waking up thinking about it, I was checking the clock, ‘When’s it 12?’ and it just really scared me. I just was like, ‘Wow, maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing.’ So I sort of decided to punish myself and say I’ll do February as well, I’ll do two months off, if I can do two months off, then I can prove to myself I don’t have a problem.”

Wow. What a scary realization that must have been! The Crowded Room star continued:

“Two months go by, and I was still really struggling — I felt like I couldn’t be social, I felt like I couldn’t go to the pub and have a lime soda, I couldn’t go out for dinner — I was really, really struggling, and I started to really worry that maybe I had an alcohol problem. So, I decided to wait until my birthday, which is June 1, I said to myself, ‘If I can do six months without alcohol, then I can prove to myself that I don’t have a problem.”

Lucky for Tom, that six-month break turned out to be just what he needed:

“By the time I had got to June 1, I was the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. I could sleep better, I could handle problems better, things that would go wrong on set that would normally set me off, I could take in my stride. I had such better mental clarity, I felt healthier, I felt fitter, and I just sort of said to myself, like, ‘Why am I enslaved to this drink? Why am I so obsessed by the idea of having this drink?’”

What a powerful realization — and what an amazing birthday present to himself! He continued:

“It’s honestly been the best thing I’ve ever done. I’m a year and a half into it now. It doesn’t even cross my mind.”

We’re so proud of Tom! He added that his friends have been “super supportive,” and that his mom actually joined him in the journey to sobriety as well. He concluded:

“If I could encourage someone to drink less, that would be great. But I don’t want to start getting into the world of, ‘You need to stop drinking,’ because it’s not for me to say.”

Apparently the 27-year-old is a trained carpenter from a family of trained carpenters. And he reckons that skill helped him shore up his bond with Zendaya!

Speaking about his DIY skills, which he still puts to use all the time, he said:

“Carpentry is something I just really enjoy. I love it. I’ve made my mom’s kitchen table. I made my mom’s office. I’ve built all the cupboards in my bedroom. I built a little birdhouse for my grandad.”

But the subject led into an adorable Tom/Zendaya story we’d never heard before! The Marvel hero actually got uncharacteristically braggadocious about it, boasting:

“I fixed my girlfriend’s door once. Really early on in our relationship. I was hanging out at her house and her door was broken. I was like, ‘I’m gonna fix that door for you.’ And now, we’re in love.”

Ha! We guess it worked! We mean… tell us he isn’t like 25% hotter to you now that you know he can fix stuff around the house! LOLz!

We have to say, we’re loving how comfortable these two are in their relationship now that they’re finally talking about it every now and then! They’re so cute!

Of course, the pair starred in the recent Spider-Man films as love interests, Peter Parker and MJ. Their on-screen romance later blossomed into an IRL relationship. And after years of dating rumors, they finally revealed they were a couple after getting caught kissing in a car at a red light in Los Angeles back in July 2021. Obviously, everyone went wild when the news broke, but they didn’t confirm they were an item until later when Tom sat down for an interview with GQ.

Despite going public with their romance, they’ve kept their romance pretty private – until now. Because while doing press for The Crowded Room, the 27-year-old actor finally gave several outlets some more insight into his life with Zendaya. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter published on Wednesday, Tom touched on why they’ve tried to keep their relationship out of the public eye, saying:

“Our relationship is something that we are incredibly protective of and we want to keep as sacred as possible. We don’t think that we owe it to anyone, it’s our thing, and it has nothing to do with our careers.”

That isn’t to say, though, they are not supportive of each other’s careers. While Zendaya was noticeably absent from the premiere of his Apple TV+ show in New York, he insisted there was no trouble in paradise between them:

“She’s visiting her grandma. We’re two very busy people, and we’re on the opposite sides of the world at this present time, so she couldn’t come.”

Clearly, she is just cheering him on from afar! He also made it clear in an accompanying video interview with the outlet that he’s her biggest fan:

“She’s wonderful to work with. She’s arguably the most talented person I’ve ever met. She’s amazing. My first impression when I first met Zendaya – she was the only person auditioning for MJ, and it was such a homerun. I was so blown away by how unique her performance was. And also just so interested in the fact that as soon as she left the room, there was a unanimous decision that she was our MJ. And obviously I’m very happy that she came in and tested that day. I’m sure you can guess why.”

So sweet! Despite their busy schedules, it sounds like they still make sure to spend some quality time together. He shared with the THR that he and Zendaya will head out onto the golf course to play a few rounds at times:

“I’ve given her a few lessons. She’s very naturally talented, a real athlete, so she picked it up really quickly.”

Another way they stay connected? Zendaya constantly sends him memes on the ‘gram! Tom told Buzzfeed in an interview on Wednesday:

“It’s nonstop. She sends me too much, it’s like, I can’t keep up! I delete my Instagram for days at a time. I download it to post and then I have to check my messages, and I’ll have hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of things from her.”

Lolz! When asked whether he has rizz – or charisma, he immediately denied having it – but pointed out that he didn’t need it since he’s “happy and in love” with Zendaya:

“I have no rizz whatsoever, I have limited rizz… I need you to fall in love with me, really, for it to work. So, long game. Probably making a movie with each other — it definitely helps when the characters are falling in love with one another, you can sort of blur the lines a little bit. That’s kind of where my rizz is at. And, you know, I’m locked up. I’m happy and in love so I’ve got no need for rizz.”

Aww!! And he didn’t just open up about his relationship with Zendaya during his press tour! The Uncharted star also talked about another special person in his life – his best friend Timothée Chalamet. He told The Hollywood Reporter about becoming close with the Dune star:

“We’re obviously very often part of the same conversation. I admire him. I really like him as a friend. And he’s a good ally to have in a business that’s pretty cutthroat.”

The Spider-Man star recently revealed he’s been sober now for well over a year — and he intends to stay that way!

The 26-year-old actor spoke to Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday as part of a promotional push for his upcoming Apple TV+ series The Crowded Room. Working on that show has been a game-changer for Zendaya‘s boo, as he explained to the outlet. His character is an anti-social man arrested after a shooting — and to dig into preparation for that role, the star of the silver screen had to look very deep into his own psyche.

He told EW (below):

“Learning about mental health and the power of it, and speaking to psychiatrists about [the characters] Danny and Billy’s struggles, has been something that has been so informative to my own life.”

And he took it even further than just tracking the traits! In the promotional chat, Holland confirmed he’s become better at “recognizing triggers” that have pushed him to consume things like alcohol and other substances in his personal life. With it, he’s made a change: Holland revealed to the outlet that he has been “sober” for a year and four months now!!

Good for him!

So, that’s an amazing update for the A-lister. He didn’t specify which substance(s) he has backed off from in the last 16 months, but it’s a remarkable achievement nonetheless! Snaps and claps!

And it’s not the only thing that has come out of shooting The Crowded Room. Holland also spoke to the mag about how the upcoming show’s heavy subject matter weighed down on him quite a bit:

“I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job doing the whole action-movie thing. But the mental aspect, it really beat me up and it took a long time for me to recover afterwards, to sort of get back to reality.”

After nine months of filming this forthcoming Apple TV+ series, the Uncharted actor considered doing some drastic things to try to “distance” himself from his troubling character:

“I was seeing myself in him, but in my personal life. I remember having a bit of a meltdown at home and thinking, like, ‘I’m going to shave my head. I need to shave my head because I need to get rid of this character.’ And, obviously, we were mid-shooting, so I decided not to. … It was unlike anything I’ve ever experienced before.”

Whoa!

FWIW, Holland has previously spoken publicly about alcohol consumption.

In April of 2020, during a virtual appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live right in the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic’s first wave, Holland joked about being “drunk all the time.” When host Jimmy Kimmel asked whether the Marvel star and his then-roommates were having any issues with lockdown, Tom replied:

“Not really ‘cause we’re drunk all the time. I actually said this weekend that I was going to stop drinking for a week, I was going to have a week off. And then literally Monday morning, Ryan Reynolds sent me a case of [Reynolds’ Aviator brand] gin.”

From that to this in a few years’ time, then.

It was a super quick cameo on her BF’s part, but it’s probably because they were both too invested in the show! The actress captioned her post:

“When I tell you we barely had a voice by the end of this. Childhood dreams come true, going to an @usher concert.”
