After her former dancers accused her of sexual and religious harassment, creating a toxic work environment, disability discrimination, and SO much more, the pop star is fighting to repair her reputation!

In her formal response obtained by Page Six on Thursday, the About Damn Time artist asked the Los Angeles Superior Court to dismiss the so-called “ridiculous” lawsuit she is facing from her ex-dancers. ICYMI, Lizzo has been slammed with two suits. The first was filed by dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez (pictured above) back in August against the rapper, her production company Big Grrrl Touring, Inc., and dance captain Shirlene Quigley. Earlier this month, former employee Asha Daniels also filed her own suit with similar allegations.

In the court docs, Lizzo cited at least 31 lines of defense to explain why the initial lawsuit should be tossed out entirely. That said, she’s also requesting a trial by jury in response to the complaints. Oh, she’s not messing around!

As for why she thinks the lawsuit should be shut down, Lizzo, via her attorneys, denied “each and every allegation” levied against her. The 35-year-old also claimed her ex-dancers are “guilty of unclean hands” — AKA a legal term accusing the plaintiff of engaging in anything “unethical in relation to the subject of the lawsuit.” Yikes!

Addressing one of the most damning allegations — that she allegedly “pressured” her dancers to attend sex shows and take turns engaging in NSFW acts with the performers, she insisted all the plaintiffs “ratified, acquiesced, condoned and/or approved of the acts” mentioned in the suit.

She’s also furious they’ve taken legal action without first trying to “mediate in good faith” the issues in their complaints. The staffers reportedly had contracts that noted they were “subject to arbitration,” but they didn’t take that route. Her team also pointed out the singer’s camp had “anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies and complaint procedures in place,” but the dancers “failed” to use the proper internal protocols. Simply put, they declared:

“Defendants’ conduct was justified.”

The Rumors performer, born Melissa Jefferson, also believes there is no proof her dancers suffered ANY damages or losses as a result of her alleged conduct and not their own conduct or those of other entities.

According to the outlet’s intel, this is just the start of many legal efforts the Truth Hurts vocalist has planned. Her spokesperson, Stefan Friedman, revealed:

“This is the first step of a legal process in which Lizzo and her team will demonstrate that they have always practiced what they’ve preached – whether it comes to promoting body positivity, leading a safe and supportive workplace or protecting individuals from any kind of harassment. […] Any and all claims to the contrary are ridiculous, and we look forward to proving so in a court of law.”

But the plaintiffs’ lawyer Neama Rahmani also had some THOUGHTS, chiming in:

“Lizzo’s answer consists of boilerplate objections that have nothing to do with the case. The only takeaway is that Lizzo agrees to our clients’ demand for a jury trial. […] We look forward to presenting our case to twelve men and women in the community who will decide who is telling the truth: Lizzo and her spokespeople or the multiple victims who have and continue to come forward sharing very similar stories of abuse and harassment.”

Since her lawsuit scandal, the 35-year-old singer made one of her first public appearances to accept the Quincy Jones Humanitarian Award at the 2023 Black Music Action Coalition Gala on Thursday night. The irony is not lost on us that she got a humanitarian award when she was accused of creating a hostile work environment, sexual harassment, discrimination, and more by multiple people. But despite the claims, she is still accepting the award!

When presented with the honor by some of her Big Grrrrls and Big Boys dancers, Lizzo took the stage to deliver an emotional acceptance speech, promising to be herself no matter what is going on. The Truth Hurts artist said:

“It’s easy to do the right thing when everybody’s watching you, and it’s what you do in those moments where nobody’s watching that defines who you are. ‘m going to continue to be who I am, no matter who’s watching. I’m going to continue to shine a light on the people who are helping people because they deserve it.”

She continued:

“I’m going to continue to amplify the voices of marginalized people because I have a microphone and I know how to use it. And I’m going to continue to put on and represent and create safe spaces for Black fat women because that’s what the f**k I do.”

Three of the singer’s backup dancers filed a lawsuit against her last month, saying she created a hostile work environment — they even made sexual harassment claims. With those kinds of allegations there were a lot more employees who would have had to face them — so right away there was the threat the 35-year-old could have more lawsuits coming her way. Well, it’s happened. She has been sued AGAIN by a former employee from her tour!

According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Thursday, a woman named Asha Daniels has filed a lawsuit against Lizzo for sexual harassment, racial harassment, disability discrimination, and more. Whoa. The ex-staffer said in the filing that she was hired by one of the Truth Hurts artist’s team members, Amanda Nomura, to work in wardrobe for a tour in 2023. And what may have seemed like a dream come true for her at first turned out to be a nightmare. Daniels claimed she had an intense schedule — working 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. without any breaks sometimes. Oof.

On top of the grueling hours, she claims she had to deal with some horrific comments and behavior behind the scenes. Asha says the wardrobe manager treated her poorly during the tour as she would often make racist and fatphobic remarks, calling her “dumb,” “useless,” and “fat.” These are similar to the claims we already heard against Lizzo herself. That, of course, would be part of the issue with a toxic work environment — the boss sets the standard, and their underlings take their cues from up top. And speaking of Lizzo’s cues…

Asha further claimed Amanda told her she wasn’t allowed to dress in sexy clothes around Lizzo because the singer would get jealous when her boyfriend, Myke Wright, was around other women. Hmm, why would she think he was the type to stray..?

Things escalated to the point where Daniels says Nomura actually rolled a clothing rack over her ankle, causing an injury to it. OMG! Since her ankle was swollen from that incident, Asha wore a pair of Crocs to work afterward — which got her reprimanded. She was forced to wear tennis shoes instead.

Here’s where things escalated…

When Asha eventually came forward to Lizzo’s management team about the behavior from her supervisor, she claims tour manager Carlina Gugliotta did nothing but tell her to film her co-worker’s actions for evidence. However, Daniels thought that would be unethical. She believed after voicing her concerns to Gugliotta, the tour manager eventually spoke to Lizzo about the situation. And again, the Juice songstress did not address the matter. Instead, Asha was simply fired before her contract was supposed to end.

Ever since her tour experience, Asha says she has been experiencing anxiety and PTSD along with migraines, ocular distortions, brain fog, and fatigue. And now she’s asking for an unspecified amount in damages, including unpaid wages, loss of earnings, and more. She said of working with Lizzo:

“I was listening to this Black woman on this huge stage have this message of self-love and caring for others and being empathetic and being strong and standing up for others. And I was witnessing myself, the dancers and the background vocalists and my local team in every city be harassed and bullied regularly.”

Lizzo has yet to publicly react to the latest lawsuit herself. However, her spokesman, Stefan Friedman, told TMZ this was nothing more than a “bogus, absurd publicity-stunt lawsuit” to sabotage her big night receiving the Humanitarian Award from the Black Music Action Coalition Thursday night:

“As Lizzo receives a Humanitarian Award tonight from the Black Music Action Coalition for the incredible charitable work she has done to lift up all people, an ambulance-chasing lawyer tries to sully this honor by recruiting someone to file a bogus, absurd publicity-stunt lawsuit who, wait for it, never actually met or even spoke with Lizzo. We will pay this as much attention as it deserves. None.”

We bet Lizzo will have more to say about all this… eventually. But probably not during a charity event!

On Wednesday, the Truth Hurts songstress’ lawyer, Marty Singer, announced a countersuit against Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams — who filed a lawsuit against Lizzo earlier this month, accusing her of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, body shaming, and more. The Cuz I Love You singer was quick to deny all allegations, and in her countersuit for malicious prosecution, Marty called the whole thing a “sham” while claiming his team has evidence to support their theory. Most notably, he suggests a photo taken of the girls debunks their lawsuit.

However, the plaintiffs are holding strong in their accusations.

On Friday, Ron Zambrano, who represents Lizzo’s three former backup dancers in their suit, told Page Six:

“Lizzo’s threat to countersue for malicious prosecution is an insidious attempt at intimidation and delivers a chilling effect to all harassment victims in the workplace.”

He added:

“The scare tactics, bullying and victim shaming coming from Lizzo’s team is exactly the behavior employees face in the entertainment industry who feel they have no choice but to ‘suck it up’ for access and success.”

Eesh. That sounds really bad…

The legal liaison theorized that the chart-topping artists’ countersuit also serves as an attempt to prevent others from coming forward with additional accusations. He explained:

“Her team is merely trying to suppress the truth and hide her hypocrisy of publicizing her brand as one of empowerment and body positivity while privately depriving women of their empowerment. Lizzo certainly isn’t empowering women by way of her threats, rather she is disenfranchising them, but this lawsuit isn’t just about her. This sort of behavior is pervasive in the entertainment industry. That doesn’t make it right, and it’s still illegal.”

Neama Rahmani, another legal advisor on the plaintiffs’ team, added that the About Damn Time singer’s lawyer “has no legal grounds to countersue on behalf of Lizzo,” noting:

“By doing so, he would actually have to step inside a courtroom and expose his client and her lies to cross-examination at trial. We have mountains of evidence and more people coming forward each day independently supporting the plaintiffs.”

Wow! The legal expert added:

“[Singer] may be referring to the lawsuit against Lizzo as a ‘sham,’ but the only thing that is a sham here is Singer’s media strategy of shaming the victims. We’ll take the moral high ground and fight for what’s right.”

By now you know that the Truth Hurts artist was accused by three of her former employees, Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams, of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment, body shaming, and more in a bombshell lawsuit filed earlier this month. Lizzo vehemently denied the accusations. Since then, though, several others have come forward to back the three performers’ claims. There’s also a chance the hitmaker could be dealing with even more lawsuits very soon.

But Lizzo isn’t going down without a fight! According to TMZ on Wednesday, the 35-year-old singer’s attorney, Marty Singer, says she plans on suing the dancers their “sham” lawsuit “after she wins” the initial case. Specifically, she’ll be going after them for malicious prosecution. As for why he’s so confident Lizzo will be victorious in this future courtroom showdown? The lawyer claims he has evidence that proves her innocence, including a new picture of her three accusers having a good time backstage with some nude performers at a club in Paris.

For those who don’t know, Arianna, Noelle, and Crystal claimed in their lawsuit that they were invited to a club in France to “learn something or be inspired” by a performance there during The Special tour. However, Lizzo didn’t tell them “it was a nude cabaret bar,” thus “robbing them of the choice not to participate.” This incident came a month after they were allegedly forced to touch nude performers and eat “bananas protruding from the performers’ vagina” at a club in Amsterdam.

However, Singer says a newly surfaced picture show the trio “happily carousing” and “gleefully reveling” backstage with the performers from the nude cabaret in Paris on March 5. The attorney argued these images contradict the claims made by Arianna, Noelle, and Crystal, as they’re “happily cavorting backstage” with the other dancers. You can see the image HERE.

A few weeks later, Singer claimed to the outlet that the dancers asked to renew their contract and return for a third leg of her tour. Arianna also had raved about how “it’s been so amazing and such a beautiful journey” to work with Lizzo in an audition tape one month after the Paris incident, adding:

“I look up to her so much. I just want to follow in her footsteps, and I just want to share that with the Queen Lizzo herself.”

After the audition tape came out, Singer notes “she tried to explain away her glowing comments about Lizzo by claiming the ‘bulk’ of her accusations were based on things that happened later.” But he asserts “that excuse is completely contradicted by the facts, including by these images.”

So what do her former dancers have to say about this picture? Their lawyer, Neama Rahmani, fired back at Singer, stating that the three women are standing by the allegations in the suit no matter what:

“Of course, they wanted to keep their jobs. They had bills to pay just like everyone else but they finally had enough of the abuse. We stand by every claim in the lawsuit and look forward to trial. We’ve been hearing from other former employees sharing similar stories, and as seen in the Los Angeles Times article today about how Lizzo used intimate footage of her dancers without their approval in the 2022 HBO Max Love Lizzo documentary, we’re seeing even more of a pattern of just how much Lizzo thinks of those who work for her. Clearly, not very much.”

However, Singer insisted he has other “substantial evidence” that can “prove the glaring contradictions between what the plaintiffs claim in their bogus lawsuit and what is actually proven by the facts.” Whoa…

While many have known the Grammy winner to be a champion of body positivity, the trio also claimed she body-shamed them. “We have had the time of our lives on The Special Tour. We have been so honored to share the stage with such amazing talent. This tour experience has been beyond just #Special! The commitment to character and culture taking precedence over every movement and moment has been one of the Greatest lessons and Blessings that we could possibly ask for.”

As for Lizzo? They thanked her for breaking down barriers with their inclusion on the tour:

“THANK YOU to Lizzo for shattering limitations and kicking in the doorway for the Big Grrrl & Big Boiii Dancers to do what we love! You have created a platform where we have been able to parallel our Passion with a purpose! Not only for Us, but for Women and All people breaking Barriers. The note continued to gush about what they found to be a great environment on tour, saying:

When the report came out, it was even accompanied by a leaked backstage pic of a storage crate aptly labeled “Beyoncé toilet seats” — which the insider said gets hauled around everywhere with her. Except now, the Summer Renaissance singer’s momma is challenging the claims!

On Monday, Tina defended her daughter like any momma bear would, telling TMZ the rumors are “so ridiculous.” She explained that while the storage crates may be labeled “toilet seats,” they actually contain something much different:

“Those are stands that you put fans on, they’re called toilet seats.”

Uhhh, we’re not saying that’s untrue, but… we’ve definitely never heard it!

Tina said, per the Neighborhood Talk:

“She also didn’t say her own sisters [sic] name [y’all] should really stop.”
