Caroline Manzo Breaks Her Silence On Alleged RHUGT Sexual Assault Involving Brandi Glanville

[Warning: Potentially Triggering Content]

Caroline Manzo was trying to appear on the fourth season of the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip with the very best of personal intentions. But her appearance on that show was infamously short-lived after a cast trip to Morocco turned into an alleged nightmare for the Real Housewives of New Jersey alum.

As we’ve been reporting, insiders have claimed Manzo was sexually assaulted by RHUGT cast mate Brandi Glanville one night back in January during filming. And now, the reality TV veteran is offering her first candid words about whatever happened in the north African nation.

Late last week, Caroline popped up on the local NYC television program New York Live to promote the forthcoming second season of her web series cooking show Food, Love, and Chaos. Much of the five-minute segment was devoted to the 61-year-old star’s recent endeavors with that project.

However, host Sara Gore smartly asked the longtime Bravo public figure about the infamous RHUGT voyage to Morocco, too. And Gore specifically queried about the allegations of her alleged sexual assault at the hands of Glanville. When the host pressed Manzo about what happened, the RHONJ alum acknowledged something on the trip had been difficult for her.

At first, Caroline subtly sidestepped the question a bit:

“I can’t say much, only because it’s not good for my headspace, but it took a lot for me to go back there [on a Housewives franchise show]. And going back with the best of intentions, with the highest of hopes, to do something fun.”

Then, Manzo continued:

“Unfortunately, it didn’t work out for me that way. I came home early. And at this point, I just truly don’t have the space in my head to talk about it. So I’d rather not. But I’d imagine it would unfold on the series when it airs, and there will be a lot said then.”

Wow.

We will definitely be tuning into Peacock to see how this whole thing plays out on TV. After listening to Manzo’s apparent regrets about the experience, Gore closed with one more question:

“It didn’t turn out to be the positive experience you’d hoped?”

To which Caroline had a very, very brief response:

“It didn’t. It didn’t.”

Ugh. Says it all, doesn’t it?

You can watch that exchange via New York Live‘s Instagram page (below):

And here is the full interview Manzo did with the show to discuss more about her cooking series, as well as the experienced public figure’s ill-fated “return to reality TV” with RHUGT (below):

Of course, quite a bit still has to come out about whatever happened during that Morocco trip. As we’ve noted, Manzo chose to leave Morocco and stop filming after the alleged sexual assault. Brandi was forcibly removed from the series by concerned producers, as well.

Peacock and the show’s production company Shed Media have already launched an investigation into the matter. In their initial statement following the alleged incident at the beginning of this year, the two entities said in part:

“The safety and security of cast and crew while shooting is extremely important and we take all reports seriously. In this situation, production immediately launched a comprehensive review and is taking appropriate action.”

For her part, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills veteran has very strongly denied assaulting Caroline.

Glanville released her own initial denial via Twitter not long after the alleged incident took place. Then, her legal team shared a much stronger statement pushing her side of the story and claiming innocence:

“Brandi has been prohibited from sharing her side of the story and in turn, people have only heard unsubstantiated versions. Brandi maintains her innocence and vehemently denies any wrongdoing.”

For now, many unanswered questions remain. It’s unclear when the fourth season of RHUGT will air, but we will certainly be watching.

What do y’all think about Caroline’s choice to speak out (a little bit) here, tho, Perezcious readers? Not much to go on content-wise, but interesting to see her open up nonetheless…
