Kim Kardashian has partnered with the luxury fashion brand again months after supposedly cutting ties amid their controversial ad campaign featuring kids and BDSM teddy bears!

During Paris Fashion Week, the reality star modeled for the fashion house’s new summer 2024 collection. In the brand’s new lookbook, Kim was seen posing in front of a bright red curtain while wearing a black form-fitting latex dress with an asymmetrical hemline — and the glossy finish made the whole thing look like it was drenched in water. To match the vibes, her hair was wet and she went with a natural look for her makeup.

But of course, this is a big 180 from her position almost a year ago. The company became a lightning rod for controversy with that BDSM teddy bear thing that weirded out parents — and then the coincidence of props on their shoot being related to child porn laws. It was a weird time. Kim made a big show of re-evaluating her relationship with Balenciaga, noting she was “shaken by those disturbing images.” The Kardashians star said she would only consider working with the company again if they showed a real “willingness to accept accountability.” They did apologize — we suppose she was satisfied with their response to the drama after all?

While Kim reportedly attended an early, private viewing of the brand’s new collection and supported them via the photoshoot for the lookbook, she did not show up to the brand’s show during Fashion Week, per Page Six. “We’re growing it all out!”

The 41-year-old went on to explain why she thinks going natural has been such a radical decision for her, expressing:

“It’s a weird thing when you were a teen drama actress, and the expectation to be 17 forever is out there. And I didn’t necessarily like my younger years. I dealt with some dark stuff in my younger years.”

Not to mention a lot of the s**tty stuff that happened to her occurred on the set of the aforementioned teen drama! No wonder she didn’t want to be constantly reminded of and compared to that version of herself!

But this goes beyond just wanting to shed her former image, she has always been inspired by older women in the industry, she added:

“So this idea that you can level up and get to the place where you’re the salty one in the room was exciting to me. And my heroes were Bea Arthur and Ruth Gordon and Betty White. That’s who I wanted to be. So going gray early has been a relief.”

Amazing!!

Joy was just as in love with the look, noting:

“Well you’re on trend, a lot of women are doing it.”

Hilarie then quipped:

“Well good, yeah. We’re going to take over the world!”

The 42-year-old sat for a chat with Bustle on Thursday and revealed she STILL deals with facial acne! Yes, Kim has persistent pimple problems — even at her age!!

The Kardashians star was using the chat to promote her brand SKKN By Kim, and its new Resurfacing Mask product, so the topic of acne was front-and-center for the mom of four. It sounds like she’s been extremely frustrated by still waking up to pimples a couple decades AFTER her teenage years! Kim quipped:

“I never thought I’d be getting acne in my 40s. It was definitely really interesting to experience.”

Ugh!

For the rest of us, though, Kim’s issues with acne turn out to be a good thing!! Sort of. See, living with adult acne has forced the Calabasas-based mogul to be very deliberate and intentional in creating beauty products that will actually work for her. She explained as much in the Bustle chat:

“Luckily, I documented [the acne], and we’ve been working on a lot of products that have taken that into account. I never thought I would be making acne products, but that’s definitely coming in the future.”

Wow! New product lines (and new revenue streams!!) to tackle every possible beauty problem under the sun. Yep, she’s Kris Jenner‘s daughter, all right! LOLz!

For now, North West‘s momma says she’s been forced to be content with covering pimples up:

“I think makeup is really good at covering it, but there are times when you just don’t want to wear it, and it makes you feel really insecure. It’s really tough when your skin goes through a lot of changes that you weren’t really expecting to go through.”

And she even has one non-conventional tip for dealing with acne: long fingernails!! The Selfish author explained:

“When you do have an acne situation going on and picking will only make it worse, I’d say the best thing you can do is put on some long nails. That’ll prevent you from doing anything to your skin that you should not be doing.”

She’s not wrong about that! Gotta keep your hands away from pawing at your face, as picking away will only make it worse! Didn’t we all learn that lesson in middle school? Sigh…

Funny enough, the Babylon alum actually told British Vogue last September that the products were partly inspired by Gwyn! He explained:

“I love what Gwyneth’s done [with Goop]. She is still a really dear friend, and she has built this empire. She has always had that in her as a curator, and it’s been a lovely creative outlet for her.”

So, it’s been a rough time!

But she seemed to be in good spirits as she posted content from the nostalgic event on Saturday. In a video, she can be seen wearing a white crop top and jeans while blowing a kiss to the camera with her plump lips on full display. Fans weren’t exactly feelin’ the love, though. Instead, they put her on blast for supposedly getting too many beauty treatments done!

On Monday, the 28-year-old TikTok star shared a tearful video to the platform, talking about how she frequently gets body shamed in the modeling industry. She said in the video she receives a “ridiculous amount” of hate comments about her body, and it’s driven her to take a step back from sharing her “health journey” with the world online:

“I felt like it was helpful to other people that I care about, or don’t know and still care about, to help by sharing my health journey, because I think that could be helpful for people going through similar struggles but I decided tonight that I’m no longer going to do that … That’s why I’m on social media, to share with the world everything going on in my day-to-day because I feel like that’s so true to me. But I don’t even know why it’s allowed online — shaming someone and the way they look every single day is so disgusting.”

The model went on to say, through tears, that dealing with this every day has taken a serious toll on her mental health:

“It’s really hard to see this every single day. It’s really not fair to just see really mean, mean things. I’m taking care of myself the best that I can.”

Gigi and Bella Hadid‘s older half-sister Alana Hadid just made her New York Fashion Week runway debut… at 40 YEARS OLD! Iconic!

Alana, who is a fashion designer, told The US Sun she was actually trying to snag a ticket to Copenhagen Fashion Week when she secured her first invitation to walk the runway for Saks Potts and Munthe. Since she’s had some experience starring in fashion campaigns, she decided the “total fluke accident” was a sign, and she made her debut at the event last month. And guess what? She ended up wearing a NUDE dress! Amazing!!

Well, flash forward to this week, and it was time for her to strut her stuff at NYFW! The co-founder of La Detresse partnered with Elena Velez and walked through a mud pit in a Brooklyn warehouse during a fashion show on Tuesday! She shared on Thursday:

“I feel so much more confident. […] I do think that if I was doing this even 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have felt as good about doing it. I would have probably had a bit more of a comparison mindset. But right now I feel very good.”

She looks SO GOOD, too!!

Alana went on to say this confidence follows her off the runway, too, insisting she’s gotten “more self-possessed and more comfortable in my clothes as I’ve gotten older.” She added:

“I feel more comfortable in my body. […] I think that’s one of the most beautiful parts about getting older. Hopefully it means that you feel more confident and comfortable in what you’re doing, what you’re feeling, your body, and what you wear.”

On her time in Copenhagen and getting to wear the sheer dress, she also reflected:

“I was honored that of all the models, she put a 40-year-old model in that dress. Because there were some beautiful 20-something ladies on that runway. I felt kind of like a Botticelli chick in that dress. It was very ethereal and exciting to wear. I was very nervous, for sure, but I felt really comfortable in her clothes and I felt really happy to get to wear that dress.”

Alana also said she had the full support of Gigi and Bella, sharing:

“I mean, I’m 40. I know that they’re cheering me on. I got a lot of FaceTimes and text messages before and after. As far as advice, no — I think that they knew that I had it. They were excited for me to kill it.”

So sweet!

The creative also shared her best beauty tips, continuing:

“The key is owning it and loving it. I always say: ‘If you want a bikini body, put a bikini on. Now you have a bikini body.’ I stay healthy and I work out, but I have imperfections. I don’t think that I have the same body I had when I was 20, and I like that.”

The fashionista also praised the industry for shifting its focus to “be inclusive and reflective,” musing:

“I think social media has had a lot to do with it. You see these really amazing, stylish, awesome, self-possessed women at 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80 on social media just owning it, loving it. [They’re] not trying to act like a 20-year-old but dressing and feeling however they feel.”

So, does she ever regret not becoming a runway model when she was younger? Oh, hell no! She dished:

“I think that starting this career at 40, for me, was kind of a call out that 40 isn’t the end. In my generation, you were maybe subconsciously bred to feel that for a woman, life ends at 40 or that you can’t really go up. And I think it can be beautiful, and it’s been amazing to see the shift that’s happened in society and in fashion.”

Hadid concluded:

“There are some people who, as they get older, wouldn’t want to show as much skin, and I think that that’s great for them. There are some people who, as they get older, want to show more, and I think that that’s also acceptable. But I don’t think anyone gets to decide what’s appropriate for anyone’s body or how they decide to express themselves. And people style things differently — they can make a piece of clothing look cool at 20 and also at 60. And I love that that’s the shift that fashion is taking it’s really about personal style.”

Such an inspiration! And a great reminder to wear whatever ya want, no matter your age — so long as you feel good in it!
